Eden - a great day out
This was a project where homeless people visited the Eden Project in Cornwall for a day.
I ran photography workshops at Plymouth Salvation Army offices and joined the clients on the day
to help them use photography as a way of relating their experiences on the day to their life on the streets.
We tend to stereotype the homeless overlooking or not realising their vulnerability. Very little separates them from us.
These portraits were a collaboration between me and each person. They chose the location and added the caption as I wanted them to have control over how they were represented.
All too often things are done to them including how they are portrayed in images.
The results here are a way of them showing their feelings about the day and their circumstances.
